"Dandadan Season 3 is confirmed," the official X account wrote. "Thank you to all the fans for your support, and we hope you look forward to what's in store. Stay tuned for Dandadan Season 3!"

Dandadan Season 3 Confirmed: Shonen Jump's Supernatural Sci-Fi Hit Anime Continues

Dandadan, the wildly popular anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu's Shonen Jump manga, tells the story of two misfit teenagers whose opposing fascinations—one with aliens, the other with ghosts—lead them into extraordinary supernatural adventures. What starts as a clash between a sci-fi believer and a paranormal enthusiast evolves into an unlikely partnership that transforms both outcasts into something stronger together. The series comes from Science Saru, the acclaimed animation studio responsible for Netflix's groundbreaking Devilman Crybaby (2018) and the highly anticipated Ghost in the Shell reboot slated for 2026. Their distinctive animation style brings Tatsu's bizarre world to vivid life. GKIDS, the respected indie distributor known for bringing unique anime to American audiences, has been strategically building Dandadan's theatrical presence. They first introduced Season 1 through Dandadan: First Encounter, which hit U.S. theaters on September 13, 2024. The limited release was such an unexpected hit that screenings were extended well into late September due to overwhelming demand. Building on this success, GKIDS released the opening episodes of Season 2 as Dandadan: Evil Eye in June, giving fans an exclusive theatrical preview of Momo Ayase and Ken "Okarun" Takakura's continued supernatural misadventures. The series has proven to be a streaming powerhouse as well, with Season 1 racking up an impressive 4.3 million Netflix views in its debut week alone. Riding the wave of Dandadan's success, GKIDS has secured another major Shonen Jump property: Jujutsu Kaisen. Fans can look forward to Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution, a compilation film featuring Season 3 previews, when it arrives in U.S. theaters on December 5, 2025.
